Audio is the fastest growing segment in the publishing industry, growing over 75 percent since 1995. The increased popularity of audio can be attributed to several key factors. As people get busier and busier, they need to make certain they are spending their time wisely. Due to the spoken nature of the medium, audio enables users to multitask – drive, exercise or work – while listening to a program. This saves them time while allowing them to accomplish several objectives at once and is extremely beneficial to busy physicians who must find time in their overburdened schedules to fulfill their CME mandates and keep up to date on recent advances.
Since 1988, Research To Practice has recognized the power of audio as an educational vehicle and has developed an integrated educational model with audio as its centerpiece. All of Research To Practice’s CME audio series are developed to bridge the gap between research and patient care. By delivering relevant, timely and unbiased information, RTP’s programs aim to identify and rectify situations where clear-cut consensus on “standard therapy” exists among researchers, but where those same treatments are under-utilized in community practice. In areas where controversy exists, RTP’s programs deliver research leader opinion, via one-on-one interviews, on emerging clinical data to aid in clinical decision-making. Combining the expertise of its clinical staff and the opinions of research leaders, RTP produces a variety of audio programs that are highly respected in the medical community.
